Warren County Business Advisory Council

The Warren County Educational Service Center’s Business Advisory Council (BAC) serves as a strategic partnership between schools, employers, higher education, and community leaders to expand career readiness opportunities for students throughout Warren County. The BAC aligns education and workforce needs by fostering industry collaboration, experiential learning, career exploration, and real-world skill development.

By strengthening relationships between districts and the business community, the BAC ensures students graduate with the knowledge, competencies, and professional experience necessary to pursue high-value career pathways. The group advises school districts on industry expectations, emerging workforce trends, employability skills, and regional economic priorities. In addition, the BAC helps connect students with job shadowing, internships, pre-apprenticeships, mentorship, business-led instruction, and hands-on learning environments.

Our Four Industry Pillars

To ensure relevance and depth of programming, the WCESC BAC focuses on four key workforce sectors that represent major growth opportunities across Warren County and Southwest Ohio. These pillars guide our experiential learning initiatives, business partnerships, and program design.

  1. Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering

This pillar supports hands-on experiences in modern manufacturing, automation, machining, product design, robotics, and engineering technologies. Students gain exposure to real-world problem solving, precision tooling, safety standards, and high-demand technical skills aligned to regional industry needs.

  1. Information Technology & Cybersecurity

The IT pillar provides students with pathways in computer science, software development, cybersecurity, data analytics, systems support, digital communications, and emerging AI-aligned fields. Employers collaborate with schools to develop foundational IT competencies, credential readiness, and technology-driven workplace expectations.

  1. Healthcare & Wellness Professions

This pillar includes career exposure and work-based learning in clinical care, nursing, behavioral health, laboratory science, sports medicine, allied health professions, and wellness careers. Employers help students understand patient-centered care, medical ethics, communication skills, and the growing needs of the regional healthcare ecosystem.

  1. Business, Entrepreneurship, Travel & Hospitality

Students explore opportunities within business management, entrepreneurship, finance, customer service, logistics, hospitality, event management, tourism, and community-facing industries. This pillar cultivates employability skills, leadership competencies, customer-centric communication, and innovation through real-world business environments.

Our Commitment

The BAC is committed to preparing all students for postsecondary success by aligning education with industry-recognized skills, regional labor priorities, and high-value employment pathways. Together with Warren County districts, higher education partners, and local employers, we are building a talent pipeline that benefits students, families, businesses, and our broader community.
