Ohio Pre-Service Program

Ohio Pre-Service Program is designed to train those who have never driven a school bus with students on board. The program, which uses current techniques and methods of operating a school bus under the Pupil Transportation Operation and Safety Rules enacted by the State Board of Education. Upon completion of the course, the successful driver will receive a certificate from the Warren County Educational Service Center Pre-Service office. The certificate is good for six years.
The Pre-Service Program also trains veteran drivers when their certificate expires. The program is designed to meet the requirement under the Pupil Transportation Operation and Safety Rules enacted by the State Board of Education. Upon completion the school bus driver receives a new certificate for six years.
No school bus driver is permitted to drive a school bus without a valid certificate.
The Pre-Service Program ensures school bus drivers in Ohio will be well trained and capable of safely operating a school bus.
