The School-Based Mental Health Program serves youth who are vulnerable to school failure due to personal, family, social-emotional, academic and environmental challenges by addressing non-academic issues that interfere with school success.
Our mission is to support youth and families in maximizing their potential and enhancing their wellness in the natural environments of school, family and community through advocacy, mental health services and education. This provides better access to services, less time away from school for community appointments and the ability to collaborate more fully with teachers, guidance counselors and administrators.
Participants in the School-Based Mental Health Program are identified and referred for a variety of reasons, including: emotional distress, difficulty managing academic expectations, family difficulties/separations, attention deficit/hyperactivity, depression, anxiety, trauma and loss.
